Beginner / Basics

All beginner classes are designed to give you the time and support to understand the proper alignment of Yoga asanas (postures) and breathing technique. You will begin by focusing on the basics, but it won't stop there. Beginner's is always exciting because in every class you learn and do something new. This is a great way to merge yourself into our flow classes while continuing to build your practice. Emphasis is on alignment of postures, breathing, safety, and increasing flexibility while dissolving tension. This class will help improve balance and overall strength creating a clear, calm mind and healthy spirit. Perfect for the newer student or those who want to keep it simple and move a little slower. After our 4-week session in our Novice (Beginner's) Workshop you will be able to join a Beginner's/Basic yoga class.

Level 1

After you feel comfortable with the postures taught in beginner's classes you would be ready to move to Level 1. These more challenging classes continue to emphasize the fundamentals of yoga while presenting the poses and sequencing the class in a more challenging way. Level 1-classes offer new and exciting challenges for students while ensuring more difficult positions are practiced safely and effectively. Focus is still on alignment and adjustments are provided. While building upon the fundamentals gained in the beginner's level, you will continue to build strength and flexibility. The class brings focus to pranayama, setting an intention and inspiring music is plugged in while linking asana to movement and breath.

Level 2

These classes are designed to take you to the intermediate level where you will expand on your strength, stamina and flexibility as you learn more advanced postures (prep work for inversions, backbends) and more demanding sequences. Level 2 classes will help you take your practice to a whole new level. The pace of these classes is more demanding, you will go deeper, and your teacher will help you achieve breakthroughs in your practice and your self-awareness. Emphasis is placed on safety, alignment and adjustments are provided. Level 2 classes offer a beautiful balance of flow to inspiring music, linking asana to breath. Expect to be transformed.

Open Level

In an open level class, the teacher will read the room and decide what will benefit the students collectively. This is a flowing paced class open to everyone that links movement to breath while providing instruction and attention to alignment and safety. You work at your own pace, following the teacher's verbal as well as hands-on guidance. Asana options will be provided for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. This class maintains a focus on pranayama, setting an intention and meditation. You will build strength and flexibility while improving balance and all over body conditioning. You will move and detoxify all your vital organs and muscles. You will leave class restored, recharged and renewed with a clear mind and open heart. Classes have inspiring music, to help you get out of your head and into your body.

Gentle Yoga

This class is for absolutely any one of any age, shape or size or limited mobility in the body for various reasons. No experience or flexibility required. Focus is on the correct positioning of basic yoga postures within one's own body. You will increase mobility, increase metabolism and general well-being. In a safe atmosphere that is insightful, light and enthusiastic. Props are offered to increase freedom and create ease in our body. The main goal is to facilitate better health, while concentrating on the breath to bring more awareness inside. Gentle yoga increases flexibility, joint range of motion, energy levels, eye/hand coordination, concentration and memory, strength and resistance, and self-acceptance. It improves blood pressure, pulse rate, sleep, balance, boosts your immune system, and normalizes the functioning of endorphins. It also decreases, pain, depression and anxiety. Return your body to its original suppleness while calming and quieting the mind. This class is nurturing for the body and a great addition to your Vinyasa flow practice.

Happy Hour Flow

Had a long week? Need to de-stress? Sure, you can go to the local Pub and have a few beers or cocktails,,, or you can step onto your mat and get rid of all that work-related tension! This open-level class will ring you out from head to toe, bringing focus to breath and alignment as you move to the beat of inspiring music. Flow into the weekend feeling relaxed, joyful and calm.

Beginner's Workshop (New to Yoga - 4 Week Session)

Beginners yoga is a great way to get your feet wet and discover a magical world. Creating an environment where all student, who have never set foot on a yoga mat can feel comfortable and at ease. This workshop is perfect to begin your journey into the stimulating world of Yoga. The emphasis in our workshop is to help you build a strong foundation, working on alignment while keep you safe. This class provides you with the essential skills to practice without fear of injury. Instructors will provide detailed instruction of sequences, poses and modification to insure your safety. At the end of the 4 weeks you will feel ready to filter into the Beginner classes, working your way toward Level 1 and eventually Level 2 classes. Having built a strong and satisfying practice, you will have a clear understanding of a Vinyasa Flow Class and what to expect, and feel ready to take the next leap. Enjoy the magical journey!

Benefit/Karma Yoga Flow

At Prana, we are dedicated to helping those less fortunate than ourselves. Serving others in need is a gift; the feeling you get in your heart and soul is blissful. Sure, you can stay home in front of the computer or TV... or, for a suggested donation of $15, you can help another in need simply by stepping onto your yoga mat. Our Benefit/Karma Yoga classes are a simple way to help others. These classes are geared towards moving your body, breathing and keeping it simple while having fun and being of service. All levels of practitioners are welcome. Emphasis is placed on proper alignment, setting an intention and meditation. You will leave class feeling balanced, centered and peaceful. Then you can spend the rest of your day relaxed and satisfied, knowing that you gave of yourself to help another in need.
