Meet Our Instructors
Ellen has always loved to move and is fascinated with the body’s ability
to change, heal, communicate and entertain. Trained as a dancer from a
young age, Ellen went on to obtain her BA in Dance from Hope College.
Ellen has danced with a variety of modern dance companies including
Aerial Dance Theatre, Present Tense Dance and BIODANCE. As a back
injury started to limit her ability to dance and even get through the day,
Ellen started focusing on yoga as a way to heal her body and “do no
harm.” The concept of Ahimsa now drives Ellen’s yoga practice and
classes. In her classes, focus is on proper alignment and adapting the
poses appropriately for each person’s ability and body. Ellen earned her
RYT 200 hour certification through Yoga Works at Prana Yoga and is a
member of Yoga Alliance.
Ellen is excited to share her love of yoga with the Prana family.
